Final Video Project

For the final video project in this class, my friend Tanner recorded this video of me. In the video, I spoke about my achievements with using WordPress, Adobe Dreamweaver, Indesign, and Adobe Photoshop. In the video I also spoke about my experience traveling and studying abroad. I expanded on where I would like to be working in the future, and what I would like to be doing with my life. For this video we used a Panasonic AC90 camera, which was set on top of a tripod. We also used a lavalire wireless microphone to record audio. The music I used for the video is from the website Killertracks, and the song I used is called Blossom by Guitar Duets.

Dreamweaver

Adobe Dreamweaver is a software for web designers produced by Adobe Systems. Dreamweaver is a featured HTML web and programming editor. Dreamweaver is a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” (WYSIWYG) web launcher and is very user friendly. It is essentially a more elaborate version of WordPress.com.

While using Dreamweaver you must ask yourself the same questions you did while creating your WordPress website. These questions include: “Who is my target audience?” “What is the purpose of my website?” “Is my website easy to navigate?” Then from there you can create your site.

You can do this by adding images, videos, text, and personalizing your web page to look appealing to the viewers and target audience. Adobe Dreamweaver has taken off with its user friendly navigation and with the technological revolution boom.

What comes hand in hand with Dreamweaver is Text Wrangler. This is a general purpose text editor, where one is able to edit, search and manipulate text. Here is a link to download it. Sublime Text is an editor for code, markup, and prose. This is essential to make your website look the way you want it. Both of these tools enhance the looks of your website and make it easy for the viewer to find their way around your website.

HTML, CSS, and Web Design

Hypertext Makeup Language, also known as HTML builds a web page. Over time, as technology adapts, so do the things that make up technology. There has been several types of HTML over the years, the most recent one that we use today, is known as HTML5. HTML is the language used to make various computers communicate with each other. A fundamental use of HTML is to create and use hyperlinks. HTML is used across the world wide web in every day life.

Cascading Style Sheets otherwise known as CSS, also builds a web page. Cascading Style Sheets are a code of language used to interpret Hypertext Makeup Language on a web page. Cascading Style Sheets main use is to separate document contact from document presentation.

Web design is essentially all up to you. It is how one would like their website to look based on their target audience, and viewership. While building a website one must think about what theme they would like, what the purpose of the site is, and the easy accessibility to the site. It is essential that ones website has a header, footer, main content, and navigation. It is also essential that ones website looks the same on a desktop as well as another computer device, such as a smart phone.

Venice

Venice, Italy is a city unlike any other. Walking through the streets you are engulfed with the smell of pizza, and fresh water throughout the canals. Myself along with three others stayed in an Air B&B apartment overlooking the city with a rooftop terrace. It was amazing staying in another person’s home. We made homemade pizza, pasta, and the views were amazing.

Barcelona

Barcelona is an amazing city. I stayed here with three other girls for about one week. We ate tapas, drank sangria, and walked throughout Barcelona, Spain. It was amazing to be embedded in another culture and country seeing people from all over the world.

Siblings

There is a special bond that siblings have with each other. Although we fight, argue, and tease each other, at the end of the day we still love one another. It is special knowing that these people were placed into your life and will be by your side through anything. 10380524_10202816780353762_4276451306664580110_o

Edinburgh

Edinburgh, Scotland was one of the most breathtaking cities I have ever been to. It was here where I first tried Haggis, I went to the cafe where J.K. Rowling wrote the brilliant Harry Potter series, and I stayed in an amazing hostel where I met life-long friends. Not a day goes by where I do not miss living abroad and seeing things that are older than the country of the United States.

London

In the beautiful, fast, and diverse city of London I saw things you will never see anywhere else in the world. I went inside Parliament, I saw the amazing play War Horse, and enjoyed a cup of tea while watching the world go by.
